The route so far
I am Kevin “xiphos” Wolbert: a network engineer interested in the operational details that make systems dependable. This site is where I document the decisions, experiments, failures, and reusable patterns collected along the way.
The xiphos signal
xiphos is not a separate online persona. It is the same competitive instinct and curiosity carried from network troubleshooting into Quake arenas, Azeroth, Battlefield squads, and the occasional racing line.
Career route
- Foundation: IT operations and the networks that keep everything connected.
- Current vector: designing, troubleshooting, and documenting reliable network infrastructure.
- Next horizon: building a public library of tested patterns, useful tools, and lessons earned.
What you will find here
- Networking documentation and tested practices
- Lab notes and troubleshooting trails
- Projects that combine infrastructure, data, and games
- Editable diagrams with their original draw.io source
After hours
Online I use xiphos or xiphosNL. Gaming is part of my history and still part of how I unwind, compete, and connect. World of Warcraft Classic Era, Quake Live, and Battlefield are recurring worlds; racing appears when the circuit calls.
You can find the live side of that story on Twitch.
